DEWY DATE NIGHT MAKE-UP WITH THE MYER CENTRE
My mother has always said – “The best make-up look is the one that looks like you’re not wearing any”. People often tell me my skin looks great and that “I don’t even need to wear make-up”. Of course, they don’t realise that when they are delivering this compliment, I have a couple of layers of mineral foundation covering pigmentation (on my cheeks & lip), acne scars and cysts on my chin.
Make-up to me is merely about boosting my confidence. I rarely wear mascara and my favourite go-to look is a flawless healthy, dewy glow. On a date, I like to maintain the same “natural” look. Lets be real, he’s eventually going to see you without make-up and you may as well give him less of a shock (joking! Everyone is beautiful in their own skin).
This blog post is in collaboration with the Myer Centre Brisbane – my one stop shop for make-up, beauty and fashion needs.
The below products are what I use on a daily basis. If I’m in a rush I remove the eyes & lips and stick to a bold brow, dewy base and glowy cheeks. See below for a detailed list of products and my top tips for achieving the best look from each range.
THE DEWY BASE
If you’re not into using three different foundations (which I completely get – not viable) I’d suggest sticking to just one of the below (they all provide a dewy glow and have great coverage).
After cleansing and moisturising, I apply a thin layer of GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating moisturiser to my cheeks and forehead (this is honestly the best product for radiance and it smells like dessert).
I then apply one layer of bareminerals powder, buffing it all over my face using a kabuki brush to achieve an even, consistent base. If you already have flawless skin, you can move onto step 2.
If you have some extra friends on your face (pigmentation and pimples), I would suggest blending one pump of The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation (bali vanilla 020) with a small squirt of Hourglass Illusion Hyalauronic Skin Tint (on your hand), and dabbing it low coverage areas with a blending brush.

THE GLOW
My three go-to products for achieving natural glowy cheeks with a slight amount of pigment are below. I apply the bronzer for definition, Albatross for radiance and orgasm for a slight flushed look.
NARS BRONZING POWDER (LAGUNA) – The Myer Centre MECCA
NARS HIGHLIGHTING BLUSH (ALBATROSS) – The Myer Centre MECCA
NARS BLUSH (ORGASM) – The Myer Centre MECCA
THE BOLD BROW
One thing I am not comfortable with? Leaving the house without bold brows. I am more comfortable leaving the house with messy hair. I prefer using a powder followed by brow mascara to the set the brows in place.

THE NATURAL EYE
I am currently obsessed with using my bronzer as eye shadow. It looks so natural and makes your eye colour pop. To finish the look, apply a touch of intense, illuminating eye shadow just above your lashes with your ring finger.

THE VALENTINE LIP
Usually I’d be slightly apprehensive about sporting a red lip on a Valentine’s date. The chances of it ending up all over your (or his) face is quite high. I really like this lip pencil because it tends to stay on my lips and gradually fades (without moving).
